The NACE Foundation raises funds to promote awareness and create educational opportunities for the future, global corrosion workforce.
Current challenges for an aging infrastructure
An educated and experienced workforce in STEM is essential to meaningful innovation and economic growth, and studies show that 50% of future jobs will require STEM skills. The demand for proficient STEM professionals is strong and growing, yet jobs continue to go unfilled due to a shortage of trained and qualified workers. It is critical to the global economy that we engage the world’s future workforce to pursue education and training in STEM disciplines.
The NACE Foundation is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preparing a future workforce in STEM who will protect the world’s infrastructure from the effects of corrosion. Our programs promote STEM education and training to the next generation and introduce opportunities for professional and rewarding careers across all levels of the corrosion industry.
The Association for Materials Protection and Performance, AMPP, is the world’s leading organization focused on the protection of assets and performance of materials. AMPP was created when NACE International and SSPC united after more than 145 combined years of corrosion control and protective coatings expertise, and service to members worldwide. Today, AMPP is active in more than 130 countries and has more than 40,000 members. AMPP is headquartered in the U.S. with offices in Houston, Texas and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Additional offices are located in the U.K., China, Malaysia, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia with a training center in Dubai.
An exciting future awaits:
Within the next six months, the NACE Foundation will merge with the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP – the merged organization of NACE International and the Society for Protective Coatings) which will bring exciting new opportunities for our efforts such as establishing outreach programs for students K-8 to introduce the coating and corrosion industry, and create educational programs into vocational high schools to give students job-ready skill sets for the skilled trades, an earlier engagement with veterans.
Any charitable donations made to the NACE Foundation will automatically be applied to these programs which will be housed in the Pre-Professional Programs business unit within AMPP upon the merger of the organizations.
